Now Listvyanka is a comparatively small settlement stretched out along the lake for 5 km. In recent years it more and more acquires the features of the resort area. Here are many hotels, homestays, cafes and bars. They are built up the only alongshore street and valleis between hils. On the weekend Listvyanka can be overcrowded. People from Irkutsk often visit Listvyanka for relax and energize: just seat on the shore, admire Baikal, eat and drink. For tourists Listvyanka — often the first and only place for seeing Baikal.

The coastal slopes are still covered with forest — mainly pines and larch trees, from which the village got its name. Summer months are usually sunny (on average 22-23 fine days per month in June-August). The huge water masses of Lake Baikal accumulate heat over the summer like an accumulator. It is cooler here in summer, and warmer in autumn and winter than in Irkutsk. From the mouth of the Angara in the off-season and in winter, a cold north wind chius often blows, so it is worth bringing warmer clothes. Ice in the Listvyanka area usually rises in January and melts in April-May. In winters with little snow, it is transparent and its thickness reaches 100-110 cm.
